Check out what I wore to a recent luncheon at the Mondrain Miami! Lunching and brunching oceanside are standard blogger fixes here in the M.I.A. {so blessed} however lunching on some finely crafted dishwater alongside a stunning view, now that’s a rarity! Not top long ago myself, along with a select group of local tastemakers, had the privilege of meeting with the Corelle staff to learn about the latest products by Corelle, and of course…eat. I normally don’t put too much thought into my dish-ware {hey as long as it’s cute}, however after being educated about the differences in texture, durably, and weight alone…it’s got me thinking.

  • Reply Feel the Flavor: Blueberry | Living In Color Print May 23, 2013 at 9:29 am

[…] Today I’m channeling some major blueberry here, inspired by Crystal Light’s blueberry raspberry flavor. Believe it or not I actually bought these pieces months apart {skirt last seen here, oh in the days before my DLSR}, but when I realized there seemingly perfect matching potential…well, let’s just say it was bound to be seen on the blog at some point. The two separates make sure a statement on their own, so I decided to keep it simple with a nude pump and wanted to add a little contrasting color with a mint floral statement necklace. […]

that tiffany blue looks great on you!
and, um, my dishes are ok I guess, except I’ve had them since college and am ready for a more sophisticated upgrade!

You look so pretty! I love your necklace. I love half of my dishes – haha! They are black & red, and more of a handmade dish feel which is really nice. The other half I really don’t like – they feel cheap and icky. I’d love a new set of those gorgeous dishes! Would be an awesome 6 month wedding anniversary treat! 🙂

I don’t like my dishes because they are old ugly hand me downs from my parents

  • Reply Amanda Sakovitz May 17, 2013 at 10:06 pm

My current dishes were given to me by my mom. They are pretty ugly lol. They have bright flowers on them and they are pretty chipped. I would love these beautiful dishes for my new place. Thank you!

I love just everything about this outfit! Very beautiful! And the necklace looks like a part of the dress, nice detail.

That dress is a dream! I would LOVE some fabulous new dishes. I’m getting ready to leave my parents’ home post-college to move to NYC–following the dream– and I don’t actually have dishes to take with me! Oops? You can eat ramen out of Tupperware, right?

I thought I really loved my dishes (from Crate and Barrel) but when we lived in our old apartment, the dishwasher got too hot and cracked half of our dishes. The line we purchased was then discontinued and we have mixed sets of dishes. I really wish all of our dishes matched– it would be a dream come true! I know, it’s nerdy, but it’s true!

    • Reply Andrea May 19, 2013 at 12:29 pm

Sara…if you google you might be able to find a website that carries your discontinued dishes. My Mom did this when some of her everyday wedgewood dishes broke & the platter she wanted had been discontinued. I can’t remember the site she used but if you know the name of your dishes it should be possible!!!! Happy Hunting!

You have had the best giveaways lately! First off, love the dress/blazer combo (perfect for a lunch date!)

Secondly, JUST this weekend I was perusing different sites for the perfect white dishes. Currently mine are red/black… and I LOVE cooking but when you photograph food on red dishes…. well, it doesnt do it any justice! Would love to start fresh with some beautiful white dishes!

    xx!

  • Reply Kiki May 16, 2013 at 3:35 pm

Hmm what don’t I love about my current dishes??….well I can start off with telling you that they are pretty non-existant. I moved into my grandmother’s house a few years after she passed away and have been slowly trying to accumulate my own household items and get rid of all of the 25+ yr old ones. None of my dishes match and if they arent chipped then they all have a funny yellow tinge from years of being washed in well water. Would LOVE to be able to have my first official set of Corelle to call my own. I’m in love with the Cherish collection.

What don’t I love about my current dishes? They don’t exist! My old roommate had supplied the dishes for our apartment so I didn’t need to get a set. But now that I’m going to be moving soon, I need a nice set of my own!

Gorgeous! Love that necklace! My dishes on the other hand are ugly red, sushi looking ones that my boyfriend and I picked out when we first moved in together. The biggest problem with them however is that they are square and do not fit in our microwave! 🙂

My dishes were given to my parents for their wedding 30 years ago this October. They have sentimental value, but are chipping and starting to look quite old! It would be nice to have my own set of plates 🙂
