Last weekend Sterling + I embarked on the perfect little weekend getaway to Key West. We’re blessed to live just a short drive away from island life; the type of lifestyle that’s so laid back, a pair of heels is never involved {shocking, I know}. But it really is one of our favorite places to get away, decompress + truly relax.

The newly opened {and fully-renovated} The Gates Hotel hosted us for our long weekend of bliss. Nothing but poolside cocktails, sunshine, long walks + good food. And we were loving every minute of it. The best way I can describe The Gates Hotel is a two-story, retro style hotel with a modernized vibe; upgraded with light wood floors, white furniture + perfectly placed minimalist details. It’s the perfect destination for guests looking to soak up all that Key West has to offer, without the fuss + fluff. Although there isn’t a spa, gym, or full-service restaurant on-site, the property makes up for it with a friendly attentive staff, amazing bar/cocktail selection {go with the ‘queen cleo’}, poolside live music + a permanent on-site food truck serving up poolside tacos + bites for breakfast, lunch + dinner {how cool is that?!}.

Keep up with all the fun Key West happenings {+ beautiful images} via the #UnlockTheKeys feed on twitter and instagram!
